Open Letter from our League President, Lisa Wolter - Time to give back, we NEED VOLUNTEERS!

On behalf of the LITHYAA Board of Directors, Happy Holidays to all of our families. Whatever your plans and traditions may be, we wish peace, joy and happiness to all of you!

The Board of Directors is currently in need of 3-4 volunteers to fill our Scheduling team. This team is responsible for generating practice and game schedules for our fall and spring in-house seasons, as well as for handling any rescheduling required due to game cancellations (rain-outs, etc). They will then communicate those schedules to other contacts including our umpire organization, website coordinator, and coaches.

We cannot stress the critical importance of this function strongly enough, or the high level of need we have for new volunteers in this capacity. Without Schedulers, we will struggle to have games scheduled in time for Opening Day - and potentially at all, putting the entire season at risk.

We understand that life is busy, especially with kids in school, sports and other activities. Our current volunteers wear many hats to make each season possible, including coaching, sitting on the Board, coordinating League events, and field maintenance (just to name a few). They take on these tasks in addition to their “usual stuff” like jobs and family obligations because of their commitment to our program and our children. However, we simply do not have enough volunteers to do all the work needed.

Our goal is to fill this team by the end of January and then train the users on the process and the software application by March. There are no ‘skills required’, except for willingness to learn and work cooperatively with others.

The time commitment is seasonal, and may be more or less depending on the weather we get this year. Please contact Colleen Kiolbassa (general@lithyaa.org) for more information or to express your interest.

Sincerely,
Lisa Wolter
President, LITHYAA
