Welcome to the 2020 LITHYAA Season! The LITH Youth Athletic Association is moving ahead with a summer season of baseball!

  1. Practices: Teams have been drafted with practices beginning the week of June 22nd.
  2. Games: We are planning to begin games the week of July 11th provided we have moved into Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan.  Per the Governor's direction, youth sports organizations cannot begin games until Phase 4. This season we will also be partnering once again with CDBL across most age groups.
  3. Playoffs: We are planning to have playoffs the week of August 24th
  4. League Guidelines: We have produced new guidelines for how to help us all stay healthy while we enjoy our season. The guidelines can be found on our rules page located here. Or access the document directly below.

Once the Phase 4 dates are confirmed and the guidelines have been released by the State, we will communicate the final plan for game play and schedules.

If you already registered earlier in the year for the original spring/summer season you are all set. If you haven't previously registered and would like to join us for this revised summer season click the link below to sign up, but hurry!

Summer In-House Update - June 1 - Let's GO!

June 1, 2020

The Board of Directors met last evening to make a decision about the fate of our spring/summer season in the wake of COVID and the recent transition to Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois plan.

In short, we are SO excited to announce that  BASEBALL IS ON!!  We are going to have to move swiftly to get our program underway while ensuring we are doing so with safety at the forefront. We expect to begin in early June and run into the early part of September.

We understand that the revised schedule won’t work for all our members and that some of you simply will not feel comfortable with the idea of sports this year. Should that be the case, please send an email to before June 5th to ensure you receive 100% of your registration and fundraiser fees. Any requests received after team notifications will be processed according to our standard policy.

State Guidelines

The Restore Illinois plan for Phase 3 included guidelines for youth sports.  While the league is considering additional measures to increase safety and decrease risks, the state recommendations include:

  • 10 players per 1 adult

  • Drills and Practice Only (in Phase 3)

  • Face Coverings (where practical)

  • Social Distancing for Drills and Activities

What you can expect next

  • In the next couple weeks, we will form teams and get coaches assigned.  Shortly thereafter, You will be hearing from your child(ren)’s coach with an introduction and information about practice days and times by June .

  • The Board will release more details via email or the website, as specific dates become available.

  • Finalized details for specific safety measures for Sunset, Guy, and Ryder Park

In order to gauge the number of participants we will have this year, please take 2 minutes to respond to this survey by June 5.

We know that baseball will seem different this year, the pros are seeing drastic changes to their ‘normal’ as well.  But we are so grateful to all of you who have hung in there with us as we have navigated these murky waters.  We cannot wait to see the baseball fields busy with our kids!
