Registration for the Summer season runs from November thru February. Registration may be extended into March to fill certain age levels. Registration for the Senior baseball and Major softball levels generally remains open into early May as their seasons start and end later than the younger age levels.
Registration for Fall Ball opens in June and closes at the end of July, although it may remain open later to fill specific age levels.
You can register your child(ren) at any time when online registration is open.
For the summer program, the league holds an annual face-to-face registration in late January at the Lake In The Hills village hall. You can find this date posted on our web site with the times that registration will be open.
The fall program conducts registration online only.
For any more specific questions, please contact our director of registration via email at registration@lithyaa.org.
The registration fees are available on the registration page on this site.
The fees for the summer program vary depending on the age level that your child(ren) are registered for, with the fee increasing at the older age levels. For the summer program, the league offers a discount for multiple children depending on the age levels being registered for.
The fees for the fall program remain a flat rate across all age levels. With the shorter season and the reduced registration fees, the league does not offer discounts for registering multiple children.
Yes. The LITH YAA has payment plans available for registration fees. Anyone is welcome to take advantage of this option to register their child(ren) with the YAA.
The registration fees are used to provide the following for all players:
Refunds are available upon written request.
The YAA makes every effort to honor these type of requests at the Midget, Fillie and Myte levels. Not every request is guaranteed, but we do our best.
At the older age levels the league conducts a draft to ensure competitive balance amongst the teams. As such, requests for specific coaches or teammates cannot be honored unless there are extenuating circumstances involved. Please contact your league Director if you have a specific circumstance that may require the league to make an exception to this policy.
There are times when it is determined to be in a child's best interest to play down an age level. If you feel as though your child would benefit from this please contact your league Director to discuss this option. Our league Director's also may feel it is in the best interest of a player to play at a level more suited to their abilities than the age level dictated by their age and may contact a player's family to discuss moving the player down a level.
The YAA generally discourages moving a player up beyond their age level. However, if you feel your child is capable of playing at an older age level, please contact your league Director to discuss this option.
The league leaves registration open as long as possible to fill as many teams as possible. This policy ensures that as many children are able to participate as possible, but it also creates a lot of anxiety among those already registered because of the delay it causes in communication from their coaches.
The league holds a Coaches meeting in late February or early March, just prior to the player evaluations.
The older age levels for baseball and softball (Minors, Majors, Ponytail and Minors Softball) hold their player evaluations on a Saturday and Sunday in the first week of March.
During the week following these evaluations the coaches for each age level gather and hold their draft. After the conclusion of the draft their rosters are set.
All coaches are then instructed to begin contacting the players on their roster and their families. This usually occurs no earlier than the second weekend in March, perhaps a week later.
All players at all levels (except Pony and Senior baseball, Majors girls softball) should be contacted by their coach before the end of March. Practices begin the first week of April and will conclude at the end of April when the regular season begins. Pony and Senior baseball, as well as Majors girls, conduct their evaluations separately and generally in April or early May, so if your child is registered for one of those levels you will be contacted later than the younger levels.
For our Fall Ball league, the coaches gather during the first or second week of August to select their teams and begin contacting families. The first week of Fall Ball is generally the third week of August.
Specific dates will be posted on the web site in the calendar, so please check there for dates that apply to you.
Evaluations are conducted for the following levels:
We do not hold evaluations for Midgets, Mytes or Fillies.
Each player is urged to attend evaluations. Scores are kept confidential and used to conduct a draft in order to create parity amongst the teams at each age level. Any player not attending evaluations cannot be drafted and must be selected in a blind draw at the conclusion of the draft.
* Player evaluations are not conducted for Fall Ball.
Only coaches and their assistant coaches.
Yes, either you or your spouse should attend this meeting. The meeting is divided among age groups and each session is about 45 minutes long.
During the meeting the Board presents the plans for the up-comming season, the fundraiser and answers questions.
It is also used as an opportunity for the players to meet their coaches, get their practice schedules and uniforms.
The Parent Meeting is held annualy in late March prior to the start of the season. We do not hold an similar meeting for Fall Ball.
For the summer season, practices generally begin the last weekend of March or first week of April. Each team will receive two practice days a week, with one weeknight practice and a Saturday practice. Your coach will provide you with the details.
Practices run during the entire month of April with the games beginning the first weekend of May.
For the fall season, each team receives one practice night a week with all games being played on Saturday only. The league maintains this schedule for the duration of the fall season.
The summer season concludes the last week of June for most age levels, with the Senior and Majors softball levels going into July with their seasons.
If your child makes one of the post-season all-star teams then expect to continue practice and playing weekends through the month of July.
The fall season concludes in mid-October.
Please consult the calendar for the specific dates for each season.
