To the Coaches, Players, and Families:
I may not have been able to talk with all of you and your teams during the Brian Krueger Memorial Tournament, but I truely appreciate your participation in this year's tournament. All of the teams played with enthusiasm and heart in the way Brian would have been proud of. This was the fifth year of the tournament and more money was raised to benefit the Midwest Childrens Brain Tumor Center than in previous years. The people at the Center including doctors and other care givers are very grateful for this money as it will benfit sick children and their families as they cope in some cases with life threatening illnesses.
I never imagined this tournament would become so special. To remember Brian in such a wonderful and worthwhile way is heart warming and humbling to my family and I. After five years I see now that the Lake in the Hills Youth Athletic Association has hit a home run with the Brian Krueger Memorial Tournament. Playing and watching baseball was life to Brian. It gave him great enjoyment even when he did not feel well. Your participation and watching the kids play the game Brian loved is an experience I look forward to every year.
It gives me hope and inspires me to help other ill children and their suffering parents.
Again, thank you all so very much.
Ken and Laurie Krueger
